Greek Night ~ March 2013

Our March meeting corresponded with the Greek celebration of "Apokries" which is their version of Mardi Gras!  We each contributed to the meal but as a group we made Baklava while listening to some good 'ol Greek music.

We started out the evening with assorted Greek olives and cheeses, tzatziki and home made pita bread, Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), spanakopita and kftedakia (cocktail meatballs).

That was only the appetizers.  We enjoyed these while making baklava.  Anything with layers of cinnamon sugar and butter has to taste fabulous!  Now doesn't that look professional!?!?!

We moved to Nina's lovely dining room to enjoy our entree of pork and shrimp skewers, green beans, horiatiki (traditional Greek salad with no lettuce).  The evening was filled with all these homemade delicious bites!

For desert we enjoyed our baklava and a creamy delicious rizogalo (rice pudding).... and some more wine.

The evening was a yummy success filled with way too much food and plenty of laughs.
