Farmer's Market ~ July 2016

Hot, humid, sticky... such a summer evening!  A perfect night to eat outside and enjoy the night.  To keep the bugs away hubby made a fire in the chiminea which is right next to the table.  Cindy you were a trouper choosing the seat closest to the fire!

What better way to celebrate summer than with treats from the garden and farmer's market.  We kept cool with pomegranate margaritas and rose wine.

Denise brought cheese cherry tomatoes.

Angi brought bacon zucchini cheddar muffins....

Did I mention how hot it was?  I'm not sure why - but on one of the hottest days of summer we had two soups!  I made a corn & crab chowder and Betty brought a chorizo kale and swiss chard stew.  Needless to say they were both delish!

Cindy brought some treasures from her garden - all different types of baby lettuce.  One entree was chicken apple & grape salad lettuce wraps.

Cindy also made a fresh pea & pesto pasta salad... snap peas, fresh peas... yummy!

Jeanne brought stuffed eggplant... filled with peppers, rice and covered with cheese.  This could be a meal by itself!  Yummy way to eat your veggies!

Angi brought dessert... a cake made with zucchini.  You would never know.  The lemon buttercream icing went great with the blueberries.  I ate a slice (or two) for breakfast the next morning!

Thanks for a fun night ladies! We probably sweated out a few pounds to make up for the yummy food we ate.  Great job as always!
